Labor day 2006: Moving the water tank


Our 5000 gallon water tank started sliding down the hill a few months ago. So we put up a second tank, slowly drained the old tank, prepared a temporary pad for it, and cleaned and disconnected it. Now (Labor day, that is 4-September) it is ready to be moved from its old location to the temporary pad. Our neighbor Nick came by with his crane truck (a historic military wrecker truck, designed to recover tanks on battle fields, and that means a different kind of tank), lifted it up, and moved it over.

The first way of hooking the tank didn't work well, the belt keeps slipping off, even though it's extremely tight, and it is below the seam of the tank:
